Celebrity photographer Lilah Rose has gloomily grouped her career somewhere and started all over again, not in the spotlight. Nowhere is it better to hide than in an English village with fluffy sheep, hills … and Max, a strict, sexy farmer who looks after them.
But lazy days and lush nights with Max are not as far from the spotlight as my purple. He is not only a farmer, but also a prince: young, beautiful, and powerful … and understands too much how a title can dazzle and make a person invisible. How does it hurt to play a farmer for a while? After all, Lila doesn’t stay …
But soon Max just imagines it — thinks as if it were on his earth, in his life, in his bed forever. As a result, he will need to tell her the truth … and hope he can convince her that he is a prince worthy of being caught.
A prince worth falling for was originally published in the journal Naughty Brits anthology. I’m not sure how I chose this on my Kindle, but I wanted to read it quickly when I found it in my library. It is a modern tale with a modern prince.
After her professional career as a celebrity photographer was ruined, Lilah Rose invented herself and enjoys the English landscape for two weeks. An acquaintance founded it in a cottage on the castle grounds. She tries to capture the perfect shot of the sheep when the prince hits her. The meeting was lovely charming as she confused it with the simple hand of a sheep shepherd / farmer and he thinks she is a paparazzi trying to photograph a detached prince. The Duke allows this and gives her her middle name Max.
The two later met at a local pub, and regular people laughed. The chemistry between Max and Lilah is sharp. One night soon turns into a nine-day romance.
The Duke has several conversations about his first wife and city life. Lilah doesn’t like men in power … but Max and Lila are magic. I enjoyed their hot, sexy, sweet affair and crossed fingers so I could live happily ever after. Although I understood her conversations, the duke was not as strong as I would like, especially when we meet his ex-wife. But we’re seeing growth when MacLean puts things together.
While this is a novel, the story didn’t feel rushed and we were even treated to an epilogue that covered me.
